Not Me! Monday

Welcome to Not Me! Monday! This blog carnival was created by MckMama. You can head over to her blog to read what she and everyone else have not been doing this week.

I am so ready for vacation! Phill & I leave on Thursday night for VEGAS!! He's bowling in the National Bowling Tournament there on Sunday & Monday. I'm just tagging along b/c, well, it's VEGAS BABY! Can't wait! The reasons why I am so ready for a vacation are below:

*Last weekend while back home in Iowa for Memorial Weekend Phill & I went putt-putt-golfing with a friend of mine and her boyfriend. We were at a hole with big rocks in the middle for difficulty. When putting in my ball I so did not fall over one of the rocks and sprain my wrist!! No, not me, I would never embarrass myself that badly on a double date! My wrist does not still hurt.

*At work at the University of Minnesota during new student orientation I did not laugh so hard at one of my co-workers that I snorted! No way, I have way more class and style than to let one of those slip out. I did not get a lot of stares.

*Lastnight while running an errand with Phill I did not program in a reminder on my phone to remember my Spanx for the Vegas trip.

*Yesterday morning one our way to church this car was going soooooo sllllooooowwww in front of us! I was getting rixirritated! I was not motioning COME ON and making hurry up hand gestures when Phill said "They are turning into the church parking lot." Not me! I do not have any road rage problems whatsoever! Oops! Hope they didn't notice me!

*Last weekend while playing poker with family and friends I DID NOT try and steal poker chips from the other players. I DO NOT cheat at games. I won all my chips fair and square!!

Thanks for the free therapy! Later gators!!

Not me! Monday is BACK!!

This blog carnival was created by MckMama! Go over to her blog and see what other have not been doing lately. I am so happy Stellan and MckMama are finally home and that Stellan is stable.

Wow it's been along time since I've posted and even longer since a Not me! Monday! Life has been busy, many ups and downs, and of course, lots of laughter at my expense.

Yesterday after church I did not realize that I had forgot to pay rent this month. No way, I am on top of my bills and always pay them on time. It's only the biggest monthly bill we have!

Today I did not pull out a dirty pair of dress slacks from the hamper to wear today. I would never do this because I am always caught up on my laundry. When I got to work I did not realize that they have a few stains on them from me baking in them last week. A little powdered sugar wipe here a little whipped cream there. No way would I never go dressed like this for I am a put together lady!!

Yesterday I did not sweat through 4 shirts!! We live on the second floor of our apartment building and it is like an oven in there at the slightest hint of summer. No way would I let myself sweat that much when we have two air conditioners. I just have a problem turning on the AC when it's only 70 degrees out. With all the windows open it was only 83 in our apartment!! Ugh! More laundry to do this week I guess.

That is about it for today. I really need to stop procrastinating and get to writing my admissions essay for college. I so did not procrastinate it until 6pm lastnight when I had the whole day to write it!

Oh, and I'm putting my team's Relay for Life site on here in case anyone would like to donate to us this year. Just click here. I walk in the Henry County Iowa Relay for Life June 13th, 2009. Our team is called The Two Sue's for my mother Carolyn Sue and my niece Shaelynn Sue. Please feel free to check out our website and see what we are all about. This is our 4th year at the walk. All proceeds go to the American Cancer Society and help further cancer research. Thanks in advance to anyone who donates. Have a great week!

Sunday Silliness

I had a rough day yesterday. The day started out fine. I got up, made cinnamon rolls for the hubby and me, and got ready for church. Church was AMAZING! The songs were awesome, the sermon was great, I left feeling great! During worship time they did read Psalm 77 though and it hit me like a ton of bricks. I grabbed Phill, got goosebumps, and teary-eyed. Psalm 77 was the passage put on the back of the Team Shaelynn shirts and the passage my sister and her husband clung to during Shaelynn's battle with cancer. Yesterday was also the 2 month mark for how long my mother has been gone. I realized this at church as well. However, the music lifted me up and the sermon lifted me as well. After church we went about our day with a little shopping, a nap, and then making supper together. After supper I just got into a funk. I miss my mom and Shaelynn like crazy. I want them back and it hurts so bad. I can't count how many times I have about picked up the phone and dialed my mom to be slapped back into reality that she's not there. I loved our Sunday night talks about how our weekends were. I miss how she would call me when Phill was in school to make sure my doors were locked and I was safe inside until he got home. I just miss her!

Phill took me out for ice cream lastnight at about 9:30 to cheer me up. We went to Wendy's and I had a chocolate chip cookie dough Frosty. We then drove around for awhile and just talked. I don't know what came over me, must have been a sugar high or something, but I all of a sudden got very silly. We saw a plane earlier in the day and it looked like it was hanging in mid-air, not really moving. We saw a helicopter on our ice cream run and I was saying how fast it was going. He said "Actually airplanes travel faster than helicopters." I said "Well that airplane driver from earlier today sure didn't seem to be going very fast." Airplane driver? I couldn't' think of the word PILOT!! I then started trying to talk in a Texan accent, don't ask me why, to which Phill told me I could never be a spy! We watch Burn Notice together and the guy is a former spy. He's always talking in different accents on the job.

I asked Phill why he had given me a dirty look during church. He said "You burped." I said, "No, it was just the voice in my throat!" He now says when he toots "It's just the voice in my butt!" HAHA!

And we drove by Ladyslipper Park which I thought was HI-larious! Don't know why but it just seemed funny.

I also asked Phill why we couldn't live in Owasso Hills? Gated community right in our price range, NOT!! Phill then told me I needed to go home and go to bed, he feared Wendy's had slipped some drugs into my frosty!

Not Me! Monday, Stellan Style!

This week the Not Me! Monday blog carnival is being hosted in honor of Stellan, MckMama's 5 month old baby boy who has been in the hospital since last Sunday with heart complications. Go read other Stellan Style Not Me! Monday's here.

Last week I did not refresh my browser every 5 minutes to see if MckMama had updated about her precious son that I just adore. He is so cute with his dimples and sweet smile.

I did not join Twitter so that I could follow MckMama all day everyday.

I so did not get a text messaging plan for my cell phone so that I could get the Twitter messages sent to my phone. It's a 250 messages plan and I have not used about 60 already since last week!!

I do not constantly have Stellan and the whole MckFamily on my mind all the time. I do not show Phill EVERY picture of him and go on and on about how cute he is.

Please pray for this sweet family and this precious baby boy. They are starting a new course of treatment today and really need lifted up at this time.

Not Me! Monday

Welcome to Not Me! Monday! This blog carnival was created by MckMama. You can head over to her blog to read what she and everyone else have not been doing this week.

Well it was a looooong week filled with many things I so did not do!

Last night I did not have a 10 minute battle with Phill before bed on how to pronounce the word Spinach!!

This weekend it did not take me 5 hours to clean the apartment. It wasn't that dirty!! No way, I clean every week and my apartment is always sparkling!

This weekend Phill did not get scolded my an older lady at JoAnn Fabrics!! hehe I got in line to buy my beads and he went to look at pots to re-pot our tree. He then crawled underneath the rope to join me to check-out. As we were leaving this older lady said "I saw you cut in line young man!" He said "I was just trying to catch up with the wife. I didn't buy anything" She said "I was going to make you go to the back." I did not laugh my head off!!!

This weekend I did not spend more money at Circuity City. They are going out of business and so far I have not spent over $200 there.

Last week while disposing of my Valentine's lilies I did not ruin 3 out of the 4 of my wedding gift table mats. That orange stuff from the lilies stains!! I did not wash them and then put them in the dryer! I do not have 4 crumpled up new washclothes!

This weekend at the bowling tournament Phill & I bowled in, I did not throw the ball in the gutter. No way, I am a much better bowler than that. And, it did not take me the rest of that game to regain my composure. We DID place 9th out of 43 though!!

Last weekend while watching my nephew Killian I did not let him get out of control while attempting to take a shower. My sister said to just shut the door to his room and put the gate up to the bathroom and put him in his room. "It will be fine. We do it all the time, " she said. Well, the only problem was he knew he could test my boundaries, I'm not his mom! So I'm in the shower and I look out and he is not taking his dirty poopy diapers out of the pale and carrying them around!! I do not frantically yell "Killian no no! Acky!!" To which he precedes to not bring them over to me and hand them to me over the gate! We do not continue this game until they are all gone. Next, he does not get into the dresser drawers and start ripping out all of the clothes and flinging them over his shoulder!! No way, I can control a 1 year old! My sister does not walk in during the middole of all of this hearing "Killian no no! Aahhh! What am I gonna do with you!" She doesn't walk in just cackling!

That's it for me! Comment me back and let me know what you did not do this week.

Awesome Giveaway & A Great Act of Kindness

Hey All! Short post but an important one. You know the Not Me! Monday lady MckMama?
She created that blog carnival and has a great blog. Well I read her blog everyday b/c she is funny, has adorable kids, takes great photographs, and I really enjoy the advice she gives on life. Anyway, today she directed all her bloggers to a couple trying to adopt a baby. In order to raise money for the adoption process, as it is quite expensive, they are giving away two awesome prize packages. For every $5 you donate you get 1 ticket for the drawing. Go read about them at In His Hands and if you feel lead to donate then by all means donate. I'm going over to donate right now! I also put up a button on my left sidebar that will take you directly there.

Thanks,

Somewhat Wordless and Very Random Wednesday

Yeah I finally bought this!! Circuit City is going out of business and with only 1 of these left in there store, I just had to have it!! I did get it for 40% off though. I kept asking Phill "Can I have it? Should I get it? What do you think?" To which he replied "I'm not saying anything" and walked away. Meanwhile his sister is saying "It's such a good deal, just get it, go buy it." I guess his sister won out!

It appears I have a problem of collecting TV series seasons:

Here's my grape kitchen. I just really like how it looks.

Not Me! Monday

Welcome to Not Me! Monday! This blog carnival was created by MckMama. You can head over to her blog to read what she and everyone else have not been doing this week.

Wow, it's been awhile since I've done one of these! It was an exciting weekend though and very blog worthy. So what did I so not do this weekend and last week:

Well, everyday last week I did not survive the work days on 4 cups of coffee and 2-3 cans of soda per day. Not me, I'm cutting back on caffeine and trying to develop a more healthy lifestyle. I just haven't been sleeping the best as my brain won't shut off at night :(

Last Tuesday at bowling league I did not forget how to bowl and score a measly 109 the first game. I did come back to redeem myself though with a 171 and 186 respectively! I hadn't bowl in a few weeks and apparently my brain forgot how to do my much loved hobby.

This weekend we went to Dubuque, IA for the men's Iowa State Bowling Tournament. I went along as Phill didn't want me to be up here by myself all weekend. It was interesting to say the least:
-We did not get lost in Dubuque every time we went anywhere. We did not end up in Illinois and Wisconsin while trying to find the bowling alleys!
-But, the best NOT part of the weekend was our hotel! Oh wOw! I was not terrified of sleeping in the bed at the hotel. The bed did not look like it could be infestd with bed bugs, STD's, lice, and who else knows what can grow in beds. I did not throw that nasty bed comforter off and sleep on top of the sheets and sleep with the pillow and blanket we keep in the car for long trips home, and pray I didn't get bed bugs!
-I also did not dare to take a shower in there as I didn't have any flip flops to shield my feet from the dirt on the floor of the tub.
-I did not have to have my mother-in-law help me flush the toilet. It took an iron man to get that dang handle to go down.
-Seriously, my mother-in-law did not book this hotel room because they served waffles for breakfast and then she didn't even eat breakfast!!
-The ad said the hotel had been renovated and looked brand new. The only signs of renovation that we saw were lighted up palm trees by the pool! It's Iowa, why in the world did they need lit up palm trees. And for that matter, again it's Iowa, where it's too cold half of the year to be swimming outside!! Put an indoor pool in!!
-It did not take all four of us to get the adjoining room door closed in the hotel room for fear of a nasty drunk man coming in in the middle of the night. The lock on the door did not take all of our might to finally lock.
-Speaking of security, it also did not take all four of us to get into our hotel room. Those stupid swipe cards! It was freezing cold and we are all standing outside trying to get in the room. This did not happen every time we tried to get into the room. We are all intelligent people and can figure out a simple door. We were not kicking the door and screaming at the stupid cards to let us in. We also seriously did not dare to go ask the (super friendly) front desk.

This is what their website says:
"Leave your stress behind and immerse yourself in unparalleled relaxation at the Days Inn of Dubuque" HAHAHAHAHAHA!!!

Lastnight when we got home I did not vow to go to bed by 9 and not get to bed until 11! We watched Fireproof lastnight, which by the way, is an AMAZING movie! Phill even sat down and watched it. He said he was going to study while I watched it but ended up getting really into it and watched the whole thing. So so so good! I really want to order the book they used in the movie, The Love Dare. After the movie was over we so did not decide to order pizza at 10pm. I'm so about my new healthy lifestyle! After eating the pizza we did not decide to watch Burn Notice. Phill picked up season 1 and really wants me to start watching it with him. I did not love the show! Ugg, I so do not need another show to add to my list.

Well that's about all for me. This week is going to be a rough one emotionally. It's my mom's birthday on the 20th and I wish she was here to celebrate, and the anniversary of my dear niece Shaelynn earning her angel wings on the 19th. I'm going home this weekend to be with my sis. I plan on doing an update on the 19th or 20th about the last few years and how they have changed my life so stay tuned. The Bachelor is on tonight at 7 or 8 for anyone who cares. I'm even more addicted this season that last! Fans of Reality TV is my spoiler sight and I go there about 20 times a day!

Later Gators

Oops

Yeah so I am not the best computer handler. I tend to pick my laptop up by the screen. It appears that I will no longer be doing that as soon I will no longer have a personal laptop for awhile. The screen is going in and out as I type this. My hubby came home tonight and said "Your broke your computer!" To which I replied "But I made you cupcakes and chicken lip dip." He then said "Well I guess it's time to get you a new computer." hehe Thank goodness for cupcakes or I would be in some serious hot water right now! Let's just hope the sugar high doesn't wear off before this thing gets replaced ;)

A Poem for My Mom

Carolyn Sue Lair
2/20/1957-1/29/2009

For My Mom
The Things I Will Miss

I will miss you forever
My mom, mamasita, momma, and friend
You were and will forever be a huge part of me
And I can’t wait to see you again when my life comes to an end

I will miss our daily phone calls
Our online chats at work
I couldn’t wait for you to call or sign-in
Our conversations always made me smirk

I will miss our shopping days
Black Friday was always so much fun
Dodging in and out of those crazy shoppers
Trying to get the best deal before the sun

I will miss Sam & I’s fashion shows
We would come home with a bag full of new clothes
You would sit as we tried each one on
And ooh and aww as we would pose

I will miss your love of crosswords and word searches
Your beautiful handwriting too
Sending me cards in the mail for no reason
But to say I miss you and love you

I will miss the way you loved to clean
Your Dyson was your toy
You instilled in me the value of a clean home
Your methods I will forever employ

I will miss our Sundays of Lifetime movies
Laying around doing nothing but vegging out
Calling each other every week
To see what the soap operas were all about

I will miss being hurried out the door for events
You always hated to be late
This my mother I will try to work on
It’s hard for me to get to work by eight

I will miss your sense of honesty
Telling me when I was out of line
I always valued your opinion
And hearing Calie Marie was never a good sign

I will miss the way you took care of me
Rubbed my hair when I was sick
Never left me without a hug and kiss
And talked to me for hours when I was homesick

I will miss the way you smiled
The way you laughed, smelled, and touched
The way you would hug with your whole heart
These things I loved so much

I will miss your love of family
Getting together as much as we could
Keeping a close eye on all of us
Making sure we were all doing good

I will miss your courage and strength
You battled on for 3 and a half years
You were not willing to give up without a fight
You put a brave face on through the fears and tears

I will miss you forever mama
I know I must now say good-bye
You will live in my heart always
And I will see you when I look to the sky

I know you are with Grandpa & Grandma
And reading stories to Shaelynn Sue
You are looking down on us and saying
I will always love you too

I will love you forever and always momma,
Calie Marie

Not Me! Monday

Welcome to Not Me! Monday! This blog carnival was created by MckMama. You can head over to her blog My Charming Kids to read what she and everyone else have not been doing this week.
I know I'm doing this really late tonight but I had the day off for MLK day today so I have not been just sitting around all day! Aww, how I love 3 day weekends. It's a time to catch up on housework, relaxing, thank-you cards, laundry, etc. I so did not just sit around all weekend and think about getting these things done. I do not have piles of laundry sitting around, dirty bathrooms, and dusty shelves. I was productive and accomplished :p
************************************************************************************
Tonight, I did not finally just finalize what I want to order for wedding photos. No way, I only got married 3 months ago and these jewels are already on my walls.
************************************************************************************
This weekend I have not been a couch potato and watched WAY too many movies and TV. I did not watch 27 Dresses, The Story of Us-great movie by the way, Friends, Sex & The City, The Bachelor, Grey's, Private Practice, What Color is Love?-Lifetime movie, and much more I can't even remember. And right now I am not contemplating putting yet another movie in before bed. Oh and I did not replay the part on Private Practice where Cooper grabs Charlotte from her airplane seat to hold her like 7 times and it soooo did not make me cry everytime.
************************************************************************************
I so did not break my diet TWICE this weekend. I did not eat at Pizza Hut on Friday and Snuffy's Malt Shop on Saturday. My body did not rebel with horrible stomach cramps all day Saturday from all the fatty grease.
************************************************************************************
My diet has been successful thus far by not shrinking my boobs first! No way, every diet listens to you and starts immediately by removing belly fat!
************************************************************************************
On Sunday while going to get my ring fixed yet again, no I did not bend it, I did not walk toward Maurices, go in, and proceed to spend $65. (Hey I had a gift card with $20 on it so technically!) There is so a force field around that store. You go within 2 feet and you don't even have to move your feet anymore. The force field guides you in and pulls out your credit card. SERIOUSLY!
************************************************************************************
Lastly, something I really did do and have to brag about. On Sunday morning we went bowling for the early bird special. On the last game we bowled I so DID beat Phill. He had a 165 and I had a 180. GO ME!
************************************************************************************
Nighty night blog world. I am not going to stay up and watch more TV to rot my brain.

No Legs

Oh how I love my comical husband! Lastnight he had me rolling. We bowl every Tuesday night in a league and he always wears shorts, no matter what the degree is outside. He says he'll step on jeans or he sweats. Lastnight it was like -10 or something. So since it was so cold you can imagine all the looks and crap he got lastnight for wearing them. Anyways, he always drops me off at the door like the sweet husband he is, parks, and brings all of our bowling equipment inside. Don't feel too bad, I have one bowling ball compared to his 5! So lastnight he parked and an older lady parked next to him. She was walking in behind him and said "Brrr aren't your legs freezing?" Phill says "No, their fake." He said the ladies eyes bugged out and she stopped in her tracks. He then told her he was kidding and she laughed and laughed. I about busted a gut when he told me this!!

The Bachelor

So, what do you think of my new background? I was late taking my Christmas tree down so of course I would be late changing my blog.

So is anyone else obsessed with the Bachelor/Bachelorette TV shows like I am? I am an addict! Hi, my name is Calie and I'm a bacheloraholic. Not sure why either. Only one couple has ever made it in like 11 seasons! And I am spoiler QUEEN! I love looking for spoilers, especially with this show. Fans of Reality TV is an awesome website for sleuthers. The people that post on these things are amazing! They post screencaps, search the internet everywhere for clues, watch and re-watch the show in slow motion, zoom in at extremely high levels, etc. to find out the winner for all of us regular joe's. So their prediction of Jason-the bachelor's-pick is.......leave now if you don't want to know........

Melissa!

I can't help but go to this website all day everyday while the show runs. I also spoil myself with Grey's Anatomy & Private Practice. I always know what's coming b/c I can't help myself. I seriously need Spoilers Anonymous.

Not Me! Monday

Wow! I haven't blogged in a LONG time! That just means I have a lot of things to blog about that I so did not do! My Monday release that I have missed the last few Monday's. So here it goes:

In the weeks leading up to Christmas Phill did not threaten almost everyday to take away my wedding ring!!! This was not b/c I scratch him with it nearly everyday. It's not like I mean to but it is quite sharp. I did not while helping him pull his t-shirt on ACCIDENTALLY scratch his nipple. He did not scream like a girl and swear that ring was going in the trash!!

The Tuesday before Christmas Phill did not get his wish and I did not have to have my wedding ring cut off:( j/k that was not his wish. I did not have an allergic reaction and wake up on Tuesday morning not able to remove my ring from my finger. Not me, I'm not allergic to anything! I did not dump soap, lotion, cooking oil, rub butter, put my hand in ice water for 1 1/2 hours, or have my hand above my heart for 1 hour to try and get the thing off! I did not try for 3 hours and finally give in to having it cut off once it turned purple. I also did not cry and cry and cry over it while trying to pull it off and then finally relent. Phill also did not make me call Jared, yes "He went to Jared" before I had it cut off to make sure our warranties weren't voided by having another jeweler cut it off in Iowa. Like there was seriously anything I could do had they said yes you are screwed! I then did not have to go ringless during the Christmas holidays exactly one year after Phill proposed to me on Christmas Eve :( My ring is now put back together, looks brand new, and didn't cost us a thing so it's all good!

So we went back to Iowa for the holidays but I had to come back to MN for two days of work on the 29th and 30th. I was all by my lonesome for those two days while Phill stayed back in Iowa. The drive sucked both ways but I did listen to A LOT of Taylor Swift and my new Sex & the City Soundtrack. So I made the trip back safe and sound, BARELY! I so did not almost run into a tree in our front yard! The roads were all clear from the previous nights snow so I thought nothing of it pulling into our driveway. IT WAS ICY! I did not have to crank the wheel with all my might to avoid the tree! I did not cringe at the fact that I narrowly avoided having to call my mom to say "Yeah I made the 350 mile drive to get into an accident in front of my house." It would not have been a fun conversation to have with her, much less my husband. Phill did not almost do the same exact thing this past Friday! No way! He listens to his loving wife and took my warning to heart! He did not leave tire tracks showing all the way up to the tree proving he indeed does take warnings very serious!

While I was back in Minnesota for those two days Phill was at Geek Week. A week when he gets together with his friends to play video games all week! Loads of fun I know. No, he could seriously be sitting in a bar somewhere instead so I would much rather have him there. They get loud, don't shower as much as they should, and avoid the outside world as much as possible. I did not name it Geek Week because that would just be mean! It used to be at our house in Minneapolis but they moved it to Des Moines this year. I do not think they moved it to Des Moines b/c of how much FUN I was with them last year! hehe that is HI-larious! I did not get frustrated a lot when they were here last year while they took up my whole living room, were super loud, and burnt my trash can lid! In all seriousness I really do love those guys but I wasn't a super nice person to them last year. 6 guys and one girl in one small apartment just doesn't mix. I'm super glad they moved it to a guys only corridors this year.
Burnt trash can lid-you know how most ovens have the vent thing on the back right burner on the stove top. Well his cousin Luke obviously didn't know this. They were making pizzas and taking out trash. The trash was right by the stove. They put the trash lid on top of the stove. They smelled burning plastic and SURPRISE, a hole through the lid! Luke did make it up to us for our wedding present though. He got us a stainless steel trash can!

So I'm by myself for those two days which I hate. I am not a scaredy cat! I did not check underneath the beds, in the closets, behind the curtains, in the showers, etc. before falling asleep for the boogie mean or bats. Yes, I'm terrified of bats! We used to have them in our house when I was little from our chimney. Ick! But I'm over that and did not search everywhere and sleep with the hallway light on. No way, I am a grown woman and can handle being alone. On Tuesday night I had to bowl so I had to hurry home and eat dinner beforehand. I didn't have any cold pop so I stuck one in the freezer to cool it down fast before bowling. I so did not forget about the pop in the freezer! I go bowl, come home, and go to bed at 11pm. 12am rolls around and BAM! I did not think someone was in the house and started sweating profusely. I did not contemplate grabbing my phone and calling 911 before realizing what the noise actually was. I did not just clean up the huge mess in my freezer this past week!

I did not just get my Christmas tree down on Saturday night at midnight. I also did not take down all the outdoor patio decor at midnight in the frigid cold instead of doing it during the day like I was supposed to. I did not nap instead.

In an attempt to get my kitchen decorated this weekend with my grape/wine theme, I did not go to Miachel's and spend $32 on fake grapes! Phill did not question my sanity. The kitchen looks cute though!

That's it for me! I did not do a lot of things these past few weeks. Leave me some comments with what you so didn't do this past week. I guarantee you it will make you laugh and feel better. Have a great week!
